Folsom Library Location

Location: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute The Richard G. Folsom Library 110 8th St, Troy, NY 12180

Evening and weekend access to the Folsom Building requires a valid RPI ID card issued to current students, faculty, and staff.

The building is secured but while staff are on duty at the service desk you can ring the doorbell to be let in.

Sheet Music

The majority of sheet music for ensemble performances is held by the orchestra director and music department.

Information for music ensembles on campus can be found on the RPI Department of Arts webpage.

Some scores, lyric books, and sheet music are held by the Folsom Library.  For further details please see the Sheet Music Resources Tab in this guide. 

Scanners

A self-service Knowledge Imaging Center (KIC) is available in the Folsom Library at the northwest end of the 2nd/main floor, adjacent to the DVD area. This is a high resolution, large-format (18"x24.4") scanning kiosk with touch screen operation and the scanning service can be angled for easier scanning of bound or fragile materials. It is capable of 24-bit color, bitonal and gray-scale output. Users can store their scans to a flash drive or email them from the kiosk. Public flatbed scanners are available in the Folsom Library as well on the 1st, 3rd, & 4th floors.

Reference materials (may only be used inside the building and are located on the shelves in the middle of the 2nd floor starting at call number REF ML 74.
